Who Writes Here

Edited 1/23/2009 by Ryan:

I'm really the only person posting to this blog now, so I've removed the information about the other people. I also updated my information.

Ryan Pollack (Staff Technical Writer)—I've been working as a technical writer/supervisor at National Instruments for over four years. Currently I design, write, and edit documentation for the LabVIEW FPGA and Real-Time Modules. I also supervise other technical writers for these products.

I graduated Virginia Tech in 2003 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. I spent all of 2008 living and working in Shanghai, China. In my spare time I improve my photography skills, create electronic music, write articles for several local/national magazines, stay current on technology trends, and enjoy the wonderful city of Austin.

  1. It is very nice to meet you all. I follow this blog closely, so I look forward to all of your contributions. Since each of you took time for an introduction, I will follow suit.

Kaylene Bowden (technical writer)—I graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2002 with a BA in Technical Writing and a minor CIS. However, I was allowed to design my own major, so it is actually a combination of English, information systems, computer science, graphic design, and engineering. Due to a lagging economy, I spent one year in the casino industry (improving my people skills) before joining Frymaster LLC in 2004. I write and edit service and operator's manuals, maintain portions of the Frymaster website, issue service bulletins, and create tailored documentation for major restaurant chains. In my spare time, I dabble in graphic design and amateur photography, play video games, and rally support for the local music scene. I spend most of my days with my husband and two kids.
